I asked my Pop to share with the kids some of his gardening knowledge during our Colorado visit. So far they've learned a little bit about manure tea, composting, starting plants indoor, and have helped plant a few rows of corn.
They are learning how different things are here. Back in Ames we don't have a lot of weeds that produce stickers. Ouch! The kids are learning fast that shoes are a requirement while playing outside.
Time for tea! Manure tea that is. Or poop soup as some gardeners call it. The baby plants love it. You don't see THAT in public school!

super jealous of your kids right now! i wish someone would teach me all that!
i just started a compost pile like...last week...so, no actual compost yet, but i'm hoping it's difficult to irreversibly screw up what is essentially a pile of crap and that we'll get compost in the future.
glad you and the kids are having fun in CO and i'm looking forward to seeing you when you get back!
That's so neat! You don't get to go on vacay to CO for a week if you're in school either. Haha.
